The sound quality is fine for watching tv. Also, all the different cables were a bonus as one is never quite sure in advance which connection method will be best. The build quality is very good/ the headphones & stand are unobtrusive (in black) sitting next to the tv. A couple of gripes with the instructions though. Ever so tiny type-face – so needed a magnifying glass to read the set-up instructions. Also, the instructions said to disassemble the left-hand ear-piece in order to insert batteries. My wife and i both tried for ages but couldn’t get it apart, whatever we tried. Suddenly, by complete chance, the red light came on. The batteries had been pre-installed and, luckily, had enough juice to turn on the red light on.
Some have commented on the quality of the sound reproduction. I have used them to watch movies, listen to a range of music (pop, rock and classical) and have absolutely no complaints with the quality of the sound reproduction. They have extremely comfortable over ear cups which i much prefer to my akg on cup head phones. The sound quality may not be quite as good as the akg’s but i can only wear those for about 1 hour before i want to take them off. Quality of build not quite as good as the akg but all in all well worth the money.
I had difficulty getting these to work own my tv. Followed the instructions and the video but nothing worked. Contacted the email address and had a reply the next day, making various suggestions. A few emails later they did send me an optical adapter, but i finally found the headphones socket on my tv (didn’t know it had one) and then finally the headphones worked. No crackle or hiss (which i had always had from other wireless headphones) and they are very comfortable, but customer service didn’t even mention looking for a headphones socket. I was also rather annoyed to be bribed into making a positive review with the promise of a choice of free gifts (a second set of headphones if you write a good review and get 5 ‘helpful’ ticks). A free gift also for making a negative review, but pretty strong conditions on that, and very poor free gifts , not worth having. It has to be an objective review – who decides whether it is objective or not remains to be tested. However as i am pleased with the headphones i did write a review, followed all the conditions for the gift and lo and behold it wasn’t uploaded, so no hope of getting ‘helpful’ tick.
Your browser does not support html5 video. i have difficulty as do many, with hearing dialog in films on flat tvs. This really solved that problem. My sound bar gives good bass but drowns the dialog and removes access to the tv sound menu controls. I spent two days researching every solution i could find. I dismissed bluetooth (even low latency) as risky for lipsync (there is nothing worse, and i think it mentally reduces hearing dialog properly). So rf it was and lipsync is perfect. These headphones give very good bass but somehow leave the dialog extremely clear. I wear them for all films and now get great bass ‘rumbles’ as well as hearing every word. Unbelievable, where’s the downside?.
I purchased two sets one for me and one for my wife. The supplier instructed me how to get both headsets working from one transmitter, and they are fine in use. As they are over ear headsets they are less prone to falling off, which was one of the problems with my previous set. Some reviews reported trouble placing them in the charging cradle i have to say that i do not find this a problem.
