TUNAI Firefly Bluetooth Receiver: World’s Smallest Wireless Audio Bluetooth 4 : Great little item to retrofit a non Bluetooth car!

Very compact and unobtrusive in the car – fits very nicely under the centre arm rest in a 3-series. Super easy to install and to first set up the connection with my android phone; connects automatically to the phone every time i get in the car, it just takes a few seconds to make the connection. Sound quality is decent, and volume certainly not a problem when adjusted through the aux-in settings and the phone volume controls.

I have an e91 bmw that i wanted to connect my android phone to (nexus 5x). I tried the anker soundsync, but was disappointed with the sound quality, so i bought this. It fits in the central console and is powered from the usb all the time. Finally i can dispense with the wires all over the car. The sound is much better than with the anker – not quite cable-quality but really close. Good things+ small+ good sound quality+ really easy to connectmaybe not so good things- no media control buttons so you have to use the phone. You can use google now to control music by shouting at it, so no big issue there. – no built in microphone so you can’t use it as a handsfree. Not a problem for me as my car has phone prep anyway. – there is a white bit on the end of the usb by the wire that lights up when connected – if your usb slot is visible it could be a bit annoying at night.

I can not put into words how much i love this product. My car radio does not have bluetooth, however i want to be able to listen to my music and podcasts from my mobile phone when out and about. Previously i was using a bluetooth receiver which needed charging. I used to have to charge it every week or so, and it was always a bit of a pain when it ran out of battery when i was on the move. It also meant that i was having to think ahead about when i would need to charge it in advance of long journeys – or was leaving it at home plugged in when i was out in the carwhen i used a physical cable i found that it got tangled on the gear stick and meant that i had to place my phone on the car seat next to me, making it slip and slide around. I needed the benefit of a bluetooth receiver, but without the need to continually charge the battery. So no more need to charge it. And it makes my car radio into a bluetooth receiver. I know it will work every time i start the car.

Very rarely leave reviews for items, but this one is an exception. I was initially sceptical about how well this would work. Installation was straightforward, plugged into usb car charger and into aux outlet. The sound quality is brilliant and automatically connects to my phone when i’m in the car.

I have a bmw 3 series and wanted to play my phone through the audio without any wires. Took this out the box and plugged it in, connected phone to bluetooth and that’s it. Now i can play my music and podcasts and it will connect and disconnect as i get in and out of the car. I’m lucky as the usb and phono jack are right next to one another and hidden out of sight, but it does come with a cable to extend the distance you would have between the usb and audio. The only thing i would say is that it feels quite pricey for what it is, although it does the job and feels well made and is much tidier and better of an option than some of the other bits of kit i looked at.

Works perfectly in my bmw and saved me about £300 trying to retrofit an old car without bluetooth. Requires a bit of manual effort to re pair now and then when you start the car and obviously doesn’t mean the steering or other bluetooth controls in your car will start working but it’s a great quick fix.

When it worked it was great, excellent sound quality and connected every time. The only issue i had when it worked is that it needed a switched supply otherwise you had to unplug it every time you wanted to repair the phone with it. My car had a permanent 12v socket so it was a ballache until i changed it over to a switched supply, it then paired every time i switched the ignition on. Sadly it died a few days ago, it switches on fine and pairs but there’s no sound coming out of it, just static and a hum.

Honestly one of the best products i’ve ever bought. Wish i could give it more starssimple stylish design and works absolutely flawlessly. The short lead is absolutely perfect for my cars setup and looks so sleek. Plug one end into a usb power source2. 5mm aux jack into the aux port in your car3. Select the aux connection on your stereo4. Connect your phone to the tunai via bluetooth5. Enjoy your musicthis would have saved me a fortune on buying new car stereos, facias and adapters for my previous 5 cars.

It’s a good product, but not perfect. Sound quality is excellent, no difference to wired connection. Connection wise, you will get little drop-outs from time to time. No drop-outs while indoors, it’s just in the car. Interference from the car electronics and other bluetooth devices in surrounding traffic maybe. We have apple and android phones connected, no problem. My car has the av/rca connectors, so i got the home pack, but the bluetooth devices are all the same, just different colours and leads. Price wise, this was the most expensive and the only reason i got this one was for the assurance in sound quality, which is excellent. So a good quality product, but due to bluetooth radio signals you’ll need to accept some drop-up in cars from time to time.

Got this today as i upgraded to iphone x this weekend. Car has aux and charging port close together so paired this with a usb charger for the cigarette lighter port and was in business in less than 60 seconds with a crisp bluetooth connection. Can’t beat this for something that is unobtrusive and gets the job done. The end glows when it’s powered on and connected.

Start car, pairs in an instant, and works. Sound is as good as cabled connection, and volume is excellent. If it was half the price, it would get five stars, but at £30 it’s a little hard to recommend over the sub £10 dongles, and there are some nice looking bluetooth 5 options for a similar price.

This is very small as advertised and works/ connects like it should. The down side is that the sound quality is relatively poor compared to other devices played through the car speakers. So significant was this, i returned it very quickly. Amazon were excellent as always and refunded immediately.

Works really well when it stays connected to phone. As the usb power is provided when i start my truck and the truck has its own bluetooth implementation for phone only i use this for media output of musoc or gps navigation. When the truck starts up it is possible that the two separate bluetooth devices causes a conflict which the truck always wins and the usb dongle loses out and drops the connection to my galaxy s8. Once the battle is over though i manually connect my phone back to the tunai and it remains solidly connected at least until i have to stop somewhere and start the car again. The fix is simple but a bit annoying. I don’t think it is a limitation of the dongle just the setup i have.

Superb – simple bluetooth connection, small and unobtrusive, and does it’s job exactly as you would expect. Dunno, but it is more than good enough considering the circumstances of belting down the m6 with all the associated wind and tyre noise – it’s not exactly the perfect listening environment in the first place, and sounds plenty good enough to me. Replaced a load of cabling with this and looks so much tidier in the car as well. Very good product and worth the money.

I’ve had so many different bluetooth receivers in the car and this one really is excellent. It comes on with the ignition, is very fast to connect, you can see from the light on the end when it’s pairing or connected, and the sound quality is excellent. Obviously, your usb plug must be close to the line-in socket, as it is in minis, and it’s very tidy then too. There are cheaper devices, sure, but this one is well worth paying for the higher quality.

I bought one of the firefly blutooth adapters off the back of all the good reviews on amazon and forums. Very happy with it, sounds good, very tidy install with the short cable and not too expensive. Works well with a small/low profile 12v adapter. The only issue is that when powered on, its open for anyone to connect, not ideal if in traffice and someones feeling mischievous.

I wanted this product to link my mobile phone to my motorbike. Mm jack next to each other and this is the perfect fit. Pairing is so easy and it works well. Seem to get mono sound for the first few seconds after connection then stero from that point onwards, not a big deal but it does lose one star for it. Build quality is good although the connection terminators needed to be screwed on hand tight as they were loose. It does exactly what i want, i just think its £20 worth of connector which is sold for £30.

TUNAI Firefly Bluetooth Receiver: World’s Smallest Wireless Audio Bluetooth 4.2 Adapter with 3.5mm AUX for Car/Home Stereo Music Streaming; Auto On, No Charging Needed – Home Pack (Black) : It is almost unfathomable how good something this small actually is. I hard wired a new usb power socket behind the dash and fed this into the back of my 2007 mazda mx5 stereo via a link lead, so all is invisible (all wrapped in bubblewrap to prevent rattles), and within 30 seconds of finishing the installation was listening to music via bluetooth. I wasn’t expecting this to be that good, but it is exceptional. I can even walk back to close the garage doors with my iphone in my pocket and it doesn’t drop the signal. The sound quality is indistinguishable from the old aux cable connection. When i come back to the car the next day, my phone finds the connection again. This is such a tiny thing, but it is exceptionally good and has brought my car bang up to date. I cannot stress too much how impressive this thing is. The best thing i’ve bought this year and i would recommend it to anyone.

I have swapped cars from a vw golf with bluetooth connection to an older bmw without. I have now connected the device and wow. It sounds better and clearer than the vw system. I can’t understand the issues people report with sound quality?.Maybe the device is faulty, their aux connection is loose or the volume settings are wrong?. Easy to set up and i no longer wish to install an upgraded system.

I keep getting told oem leads just keep dying and that the only thing that’ll work is the genuine bmw connect lead. This is half the price of a genuine lead and works better. Always connects when i get in my car and the sound is awesome. I have taped the end up as the light is slightly off putting.

This little bluetooth adapter is the best purchase i’ve made for my car entertainment system. It’s constantly charged (no longer do you have to be on a long journey for your transmitter to die) it connects very easy, and looks the part too. I will add pictures soon of it in my car, one thing i would recommend is a dual usb adapter as this needs oneyou won’t regret this purchase.

Great product, really easy to use, works as described, can’t live without it. However i am trying to see if there was any sort of warentee or guarantee but can’t seem to find any. Despite never touching the cables or moving the device since i got it, somehow there appears to be a loose connection making the product unusable. Quite dissapointed in this as i relied on the product quite heavily. I have since contacted the company who agreed to replace my product free of charge. The product cones with a years warranty.

I get a little bit of buzz on the audio, this is not from the firefly but from the in car usb power feed. If i power the firefly from a usb battery power source the audio is clean. I have ordered an in line suppressor to kill the noise (£15). My iphone now delivers hands free calls through the cars bluetooth and music via the firefly, switching seamlessly between them. I have two different phones paired so far (iphone x & se). The description of the product is a blue tooth adapter with a 3. It also comes with a longer adapter cable 3. 5mm to rca which was needed, a what’s in the box section would have helped when purchasing.

Installed into 2006 mercedes clk with aux socket in glovebox. Works brilliantly with iphone, orders of magnitude better sound quality than my previous setup which ran a 3. 5mm lead between iphone earphone and aux. I have the mercedes hands free phone module and it plays beautifully with it. Can answer phone using steering wheel whilst music playing and audio switches to mercedes microphone and system. Seamlessly hands back to paused music when call ends and automatically starts playing again. All hidden in glove box and 12v socket in centre console, with a 3. 5mm extension running between them. Auto connects when engine on after initial pairing. I’m totally satisfied, thanks.

I have been dissatisfied with almost every bluetooth receiver. They have worked but sound quality and volume levels have always been a letdown. I have only set up and listened to the firefly for 5 minutes, already blown away. As clear as plugging a good set of earphones. Previously had to crank the volume up to 75% just to get to ‘loud’. It’s filling the car at less than 30%. Haven’t tested connecting/reconnecting yet.

Brought this to use in my 2007 bmw that has no bluetooth music playback just handsfree it has a 6 cd multichanger but that’s it. I read the reviews on this & thought that’s exactly what i need anyway i ordered it & it arrived very smartly packed. , i did what it said, plugged it all in, found it on my new devices bluetooth list & boom it works a treat, i can now play my music library from my iphone via bluetooth it’s awesome. Highly recommended to anyone needing a solution like mine.

Finally a wireless (no wire to phone anyway) device i can play music through to my car. Been looking for ages and tried multiple other similar and this is the best by a country mile. Ok, you can’t control the tracks via my bmw display but i don’t mind. Review is based on use on iphone7 plus in 2013 bmw 1 series.

Much better than the 3 others i have had and have subsequently broken, no need to press buttons to activate, it just works when you get into the car. Every single time my wife or i have a delivery from amazon the driver dumps the products purchased outdoors with no attempt to put through the letterbox or in the shed like instructed. The driver this time around decided to leave my package literally 1. 5 feet away from my shed that i specified he should put it in.

What a superb little device. Although my range rover sport has bluetooth for phone calls it does not play music from samsung s8. I tried another bluetooth receiver but that was a pain because it needed the battery recharging regularly, especially if i forgot to switch it off by holding down a button for 5 seconds. When i got back in the car i had to again hold down the button for 5 seconds and frequently it would not pair automatically with my phone meaning i had to go into its settings. The firefly though is a totally different experience. It plugs into the car’s usb socket for power and switches itself on and off with the car. The audio lead plugs into the audio aux socket. Within seconds of switching on the car the firefly pairs with the phone and plays. Basically it is as good or better than any built in bluetooth audio. You can also take it with you and plug into any audio system to stream music.

A little bit expensive as you can go with other alternatives but overall its a decent product. I am using it for my bmw x1 and there is no audio difference if you use a usb stick, the firefly bluetooth or a cable on aux. I have tested it for almost 3 days and sometimes my iphone do not pair with the device automatically or sometimes i need to unplug it and insert it again for the firefly bluetooth to work and be seen by the iphone.

Very easy to use and helped me out a lot as my iphone doesn’t have 3. 5mm for aux just has adaptor from lightening to aux so never could listen to music and charge my phone at the same time in the car. Also the car only had bluetooth for phone calls but not audio streaming. As you can see in second picture iphone has connected to both, firefly for music playback and uconnect for hands free calls. Now problem solved and works perfectly fine for me with no extension leads.

I bought the product for my car after i lost the jack on my one plus 6t. I watch (listen) to stuff from youtube in the car so i needed the connection. It connected right away, to the phone so no issues there, and the sound is really loud compared to the audio jack cable. 2 issues i have, you cannot take phonecalls with it, so i still need to figure that out and also i need to keep it plugged in the 12 volt charger. The usb that comes with the car for the usb audio connection does not provide enough electric power.

For my x1 that’s only supports telephone bluetooth and not media. Car turns off usb turns off. The quality of sound is great until you put your iphone greater than 50 percent volume. Then it’s just a load of distortion. No playback controlcant change songs from it, got to use your phone in the car, when the police aren’t looking =/it’s not bad it’s not good it’s just one of those products where you’re like ‘it’ll do’. So i have two bluetooth aux devicesthe firefly for long journeysthe ks2 for short journeysuntil i get a car that supports telephony and media bluetooth.

The aux port in my car is located in the centre arm rest next to a second cigarette lighter port. Because of this, i wanted a bluetooth receiver that would just turn itself on when the engine turns on without any additional steps. The firefly does this most of the time but unfortuately, sometimes it just won’t come on by itself and i need to unplug it and plug it back in. As you can imagine this is a bit frustrating when it’s in an inconvenient location like mine is, but really this is my only negative point in an otherwise good device. Sound quality is very good and it has never lost a connection like some other bluetooth receivers do so it’s a shame that there is this one glaring issue with a good device.

Super product, up and working in a couple of minutes with no techie fiddling about. Works well with my range rover sport’s rather out of date audio system and is a very tidy installation as power socket and aux in are in rear of car next to each other. Did not even need the supplied audio extension lead. The system readily and automatically switches across to the car ‘s bluetooth system if the phone rings or traffic info comes in. Does not affect audio if sat nav being used.

It does exactly as it says on the tin. Set up was easy and painless, and the sound is reasonable for the money. There is sadly, as others have reported some interference/hum when no audio is playing and there is some very light distortion audible during some songs, which do not have any distortion when connected via a normal direct 3. For a bit of background music in the car, which is hardly a hifi environment, this more than suffices, but the above issues let it down. All and all, i bought it for the sake of convenience during car journeys and for that it is addequate.
