Sumvision Android TV Box Cyclone Android X4 AMLogic Quad Core Android 4 : You can buy cheaper

Only just realised how to leave a review. . :(hubby bought this gadget to turn our ‘normal’ tv into a sort of smart one. We’ve also taken the box abroad (very small size so non intrusive) and loaded stuff to watch onto a pen drive. Also good to store your pics on a pendrive and take the gadget up to family/relatives and you can replay all on their big tv :).

I liked this product and it does the job but there is a lot more cheaper products out here that can do the same.

I have owned this box for over two months now and would feel 100% confident recommending it. Very well built, the small size is ideal if space is limited, comes loaded with new flux i player etc and its very easy to use with plenty of online guides on installing additional sites on to kodi. I haven’t experienced any streaming issues which was a concern when purchasing. It is also possible to download a app to your mobile to turn your smart phone into a remote to be able to control kodi when the app is open. For the price is a must have item.

Comment based on using other android manufacturers for two years. Having experienced this unit for a few weeks i would recommend purchase. Easy to use, fast and unobtrusive in size. The remote is very basis and the android best used with a mini keyboard.

Had this 2 days now so i may upgrade future rating but currently i’m not overly impressed. I’m new to this area of tv streaming and there are no instructions on how to proceed, so it’s a real struggle downloading relevant apps. The batteries for the remote were flat and caused initial confusion as i thought the unit was simply not responding. I have virtual keyboards in chinese (i presume there’s a way of changing that but not yet discovered). Even iplayer was out of date and needed an upgrade. Certainly not plug and play.

Ok but search keyboard in the apps like show box is not english only chinese and it wont let me change it google search keyboard is in english so ok for downloading apps also tried to view some 3d films i have on a flash drive and cannot find the driver in settings or media centre had different android boxes before this is the worst.

Amazing how such a small box can do so much. Will be very easy to pack for the holidays. Although the remote is basic it is all i need for basic functions. My only gripe at the moment and i hope someone can help me, is that for some reason the on screen keyboard is still in english but when you type a letter it appears on screen as a chinese character. It was set in english from the beginning so i don’t understand how this could have happened. I have searched online for the answer and have been advised to hold shift and press space (the same advice i found on the box’s on screen settings) but how can you do this when there is no shift key?. Apart from that the box is great but may be getting returned if i can’t get keyboard to revert to english. Would give 4/5 stars if this problem gets resolved.

For a small and cost-effective device that’s fast and easy to use with android installed, this is a great purchase. Haven’t had any problems using it and have recommended this purchase to several of my friends and colleagues.

The only problem with this player so far is that when using kodi some videos play over zoomed or on half the screen or even a quarter of the screen the latest kodi was supposed to fix this it didnt ,however if playing video from a harddrive almost all video is fine the odd one that needs stretching to fill the screen can be done from within the player ie vlc while the vid is playing i cannot find an easy way to do this if watching a vid in kodi. The devs on the net say the problem is to do with the codecs in certain amlogic boxes rather than kodi its an irritation i guess i will have to live with until i can afford an nvidia shield unless somebody out there knows a fix13/11/15 fix was easy once figured out just turn off the amlogic hardware acceleration.

I bought this after some time looking at all the boxes available (mindboggling amount) i’ve had other sumvision products before so i went with this as a trusted manufacturer. I wasn’t disappointed, has all the power required. Do buy a keyboard for it as with all android boxes its difficult to navigate and type without one. No hdmi supplied either but this is standard.

Does everything and more, only complaint is that there is no stop, pause, forward or rewind on the remote control you need to access them onscreen. Good value for money, good service from seller arrived within two days of placing my order.

I received this on time about three weeks ago. I purchased a wireless keyboard also as the remote that come’s with it is very basic. You may need a hdmi cable also, which i happened to have. It took me a bit of time to set it up as the manual (on cd) that comes with it is extremely basic. Thank heavens for youtube videos. I have set up showbox and mobdro on it so far, but so far so good. Also when i started typing it was in chinese, i did manage to change it to english thankfully. I’m very happy with my purchase, definitely worth the money, but do buy a wireless keyboard to make life easier. I’m taking one star off due to the lack of set up instructions.

This is the second of these boxes i have bought. Loads of tutorials online if you need help adding add ons butvsimple to use and would highly recommend it.

I have bought 3 of these now, one for my daughter and 2 for our house. Plenty of youtube videos to tell you how to get the best out of them but to be fair i mainly use mine to get showbox onto my tv.

This box perfect for kodi is not slow like people are saying. This box is brilliant and kodi works ok. Some of the addons do not work that’s because of geo ,they are for usa only not uk. Do not listen to some of the rubbish people are putting on the reviews.

Great wee box from the start has kodi on. It already but needed to be updated with the playstore also would of been nice to see kodi all ready and setup but it not hard to find a video to set it up also cheep price for a simple box.

This is amazing for the price one i got it set up watched a couple of you tube vid how to set up no lagging or pixel-ling or buffering good 1080p playback. My internet is very good with a very good router so this might be why its so good plus net fiber 80mb/s speed considering getting another one. If you have slow broad band dont botherhad a problem with one box with kodi caused a black screen if you go to apps uninstall kodi and reinstall it as the version pre installed on box is 14 old out of date new one is 16 works fine i got 3 of these boxes all work fine.

4 – you can’t upgrade kodi beyond 16. Often i have to power off and on again as it doesn’t work. Regularly need to clear out the cache otherwise buffering issues will occur.

I decided on this unit after reading the reviews and i am also a novice when it comes to android so i found it a struggle setting it up on kodi ,thanks to some brilliant videos on youtube i am finally getting to grips with it. Everything appears to be working as it should and an add on mini keyboard/ mouse is a must to replace the remote that is supplied with it. I would say yes this is a nice compact tv box and would recommend it. Next day delivery from amazon is excellent.

I’ve got 3 different makes of these boxes and this is the best so far. It’s small but compact, seems to have more weight to it than others that are bigger. Only drawback is, it doesn’t come loaded with all most popular add-ons but these are easy to install and there are plenty of simple to follow tutorials on youtube.

Works a treat if you have an old tv that you need to add some digital content too. Not the fastest thing on the planet and it does struggle to load things like iplayer. But good for streaming from a nas box or something like that.

Had to return as was causing issues with my sony tv. Tv with switch off and on when sumvision box was turned on. Contacted sumvision said it could be a faulty hdmi socket on the box.

My first android box, and i’m pretty impressed. It’s really tiny, but it’s really quick and stable implementation of android. Comes preloaded with kodi, which is the main app that i planned to use on it. I use a 1tb wd passport hard drive to store media on, and it works flawlesslyonly issue that ii have is that when the unit is turned off (into standby), the usb ports remain powered, so the hard drive is still powered. Not a huge issue, but it’s a bit annoying and inconvenient.

Got this box as a replacement for my ageing mobie dazzle and for under £35 its a great little box. Had it set up in less than 20 mins and if you don’t know how to get the best from the box there are plenty of tutorials on you tube,.

One of the best items i have ever bought from amazon. Takes a little bit of time and knowledge to set up, but help is available for set up on youtube. Access to every sporting event, tv show, or movie is possible for free.

Received this product before throughly reading all the reviews, quite a few didn’t rate this highly. I already have a different android box and wanted one for my bedroom. You take it out of the box, plus it in, plug in the hdmi, switch it on and voila. I had to tinker about with kodi by deleting the version on the box and downloading another one, but it works brilliantly and just as well as my other. If you are unsure how to set things up on it just google it (that’s what i did), it’s amazing what things you can do with it – the world of tv and movies is your oyster with this box, you can watch anything you like. I would highly recommend this little box for the price you’re not gonna get any better.

Ordered the sumvision android tv box, it arrived the next day, considering i do not have amazon prime i think the service provided was excellent. On to the android box itself, small, compact but delivers a big punch technologically, easy to set up, plug & play. It does not come with any instructions you really don’t need any (plenty of online tutorials if needed). I would recommend buying a mini wireless keyboard you can get one for under a tenner as the remote is a bit basic. This is a product that i am going to recommend to friends & family who are considering buying an android tv box, for the price and service provided it was money well spent.

August Smart Bluetooth WiFi Speaker – Venus – Amazon Alexa Voice Service Enabled, This is an amazing speaker!

Great item works as it should.

Amazing battery life and near instant connection whether its bluetooth or over wifi. Alexa function extremely useful and accurate. Not had any disconnecting issues as stated in another review. Using it as a cheaper, better quality version of the sonos.

Smooth radio and amazon alexa.

So far not so good, i have an excellent and strong wi-fi network but your speaker keeps dropping the signal and i have to keep reloading it from my ipad app and that is not a good situation. When it is working it is very good with a strong sound, as for bluetooth i have not been able to connect to my alexa echo show yet, only with the wi-fi but as i said when iswitch it off i have to go through the whole loading procedure again. Also the batterie does not last as long as the instructions says it should. Can i use the speaker while the battery is charging and connected to the mains via the charging cable ?.

This product is amazing and i give it a top rating. I purchased it after reading reviews about speakers with the alexa function. Not only does this product look very sleek, but the sound quality is perfect and the product itself is affordable and very easy to use. The function of alexa makes daily tasks of life much easier, such as shopping. I can just speak to the speaker and it creates a shopping list for me. It’s perfect and i would definately recommend this to anyone who loves great sounding music and is looking for an affordable portable device. I am looking forward to using this product in the summer in the park.

This is an amazing speakeri bought this speaker two weeks ago, the sound is so clear. And the volume can cover the entire room (25 m sq. ) although it’s small size. Looks very smart and lexuary. I will definitely recommend it. The speaker has bluetooth and it is very easy to use. All you need to do is to download its application which takes 1min then you can have full control from your phone. My wife is loving it, and has been using it all week long. Bottom line you should try it.

Neat little speaker, it does everything i need it to do. I like it’s small footprint, great for small cluttered spaces.

KEF EGG Wireless Digital Music System – – Good speakers. Annoyingly they turn off after only a

I didn’t buy these from amazon, preferring to buy them in person at my local independent hi if store. I bought them primarily as a second listening source and tv connection in my downstairs sitting room when i can’t use the main hi to in the lounge. The set up in the lounge cost around £1000 about 10 years ago, so i was expecting the kef’s not be to able to match themset up is easy as pie, unbox, connect power and wires, search for kef egg on bluetooth, select and go. What i wasn’t expecting was a breathtaking sound that beats a £1000 set up. They don’t go down that low bass wise so for films you may need to get a subwoofer, and plug in, but for music the bass is reasonable but incredibly punchy and tight. The main delight is the transparency and clarity of the mid and upper end. It’s very bright without being brash or trebly, and provides an insight to the music i have yet to hear on anything i’ve owned. Playing something well recorded and they provide a sumptuous sound stage that is hard to describe without underselling these speakers. Even stodgy 80’s recordings sound vibrant and alive. I’ve sat enthralled picking out nuances on records i’ve owned for 40 years.

Unfortunately these speakers don’t do what they say on the tin. They are heavily touted as wireless (bluetooth) and for use with laptops (as shown on the kef website). As many of the new laptops have less usb ports now this is a great option – if it worked. However, they regularly turn themselves into standby mode (not at set times either, just when they feel like it, it seems) and often don’t reconnect to the laptop when you turn them back on. So you have to go through the faf of getting them recognised and connected again. Also, if you run itunes whilst they are off, it brings up an audio error warning (as it can’t detect the speakers). If you then turn them on the program crashes, so you have to shut it down, make sure the speakers are on, and then run the program again. I saw another reviewer had the same problem and received a driver update from kef which turned off the auto standby feature and solved most of the problem. Ok, not great to buy an expensive product that doesn’t do what it should but at least it can be easily overcome i hoped. However, when i contacted kef they said they could not send out the driver updated but that i had to send the speakers in to them or go to their shop to have it done in case the software damaged the computer.

These kef speakers sounds great if you compare them with a pair of cheap low end 2. 0 desktop setup, but not at all against their competition at this price point. Yes, the soundstage is very good, with nice mids and the treble offering very crisp detail (but a bit too bright and overemphasized sometimes though. )but the bass is very dissapointing even for this woofer size. It lacks presence, definition and even control, showing an ugly overboost at 140hzi had the opportunity to compare this speakers vs audioengine2, b&w mm-1 and ik iloud micro monitori think the b&w mm-1 are the best with a more controled, detailed and balanced sound. The audioengine2 are cheaper and maybe offers the better value for the price. The ik has a decent overall sound featuring the best bass performance by far, goes very loud and are the best suited for use with games or movies without adding a subwoofer. Definitely, this product offers interesting connectivity options (bluethooth, optical, usb. ) but regarding to audio quality, there are better options for the price.

These are great desktop speakers, to me they have a very different sound signature than anything else i have listened to. They really put you front and centre of the music making listening to live recordings feel very intimate. These are great for using as desktop speakers with one caveat – you get the automatic sleep disabled by kef (see end of the review). The sound is clear with good separation and they don’t seem to be too fussy about the source either which is good for streaming services and lossy formats. Overall it’s a very rich sound, other reviews point to a lack of bass but honestly, i don’t hear that at all, they won’t make your teeth rattle with bass, but they are accurate and sound like a much bigger speaker than they actually are. I mainly use them for listening to music, watching movies and playing computer games. I have them connected to a macbook pro via usb and a ps4 via optical, sometimes switching the usb over to the pc if i’m playing on a game. Bluetooth works well too for connectivity to mobile devices. The 1 start removed was because these speakers turn themselves off after about 15 mins with no activity, so i would pause the music while i took a phone call or something, then have to turn the speakers back on and reselect the audio device on the computer. It is made this way to comply with eu regulations, they effect lots of stuff made and sold in the eu, its the reason why you can’t buy a powerful vacuum cleaner anymore too.

Great quality and depth of sound.

I usually don’t do many reviews but this time i have to pay respect to those beauties. I read 5 stars rating everywhere (but those guys are always sponsored), i knew kef quality so i thought i would give it a go…boom: finally someone has cracked the next generation hifi. Forget sono etc… that was the first thing i thought when i first listen to the egg. It simply ticks all the boxes:- sound quality: i make my own music and my standard is studio speakers (£2000 set). Beautiful: detailed highs and punchy mids. For me it’s the active technology: you get handpicked digital to analog converter linked to 2*25w amps almost directly connected to the speakers. That means limited filtering which makes quality lose, no trying to match electronics at home (kef engineers have done it for me and i believe they are way more qualified than me), no search for cables, no 5 different power cables and associated spaghetti etc…- integration: this tweeter and coaxial setup is magic. You have negligible loss of details while you move in the room. All my speaker have been directional.

  • [1 Year of use] Great Desktop Speakers
  • Great sound, great build – Sadly impossible to use as a reliable set of PC speakers!
  • Cool and Concise

The sound of the speakers is great, but they are useless to me. After getting home from the retailer and plugging them into my desktop, i found that they turn themselves off after a short period of no sound signal. I use my desktop for meditation sessions of half an hour and use a little script for that – there’s the sound of a bell as the start signal and after 30 minutes there’s supposed to be forest sounds to mark the end of the session. The egg turns itself off after 15 minutes thoughmy desktop is also my alarm clock to get up in the morning with a music playlist i want at that time – also not possible because of this. I wish the seller in the shop had told me about this ‘feature’, because i would not have bought themif keg would provide a way to bypass the software that turns off the speakers it would be acceptable, but since they don’t, i will have to bring ’em back to the shop. Exe file that made the bypass, so adding two stars to my review now, form 2 to 4 in total :-).

It has been a long wait but at last a pair of speakers that are genuinely scaled down hifi to use with a mac. They are so good i can even use them to balance tracks when mastering on logic. Supplemented by a subwoofer to add a little heft to the bottom octave they are simply stunning. I also have for my main system the kef ls50 and the similarities are there to hear. Clearly the ls50 scales up a bigger soundstage simply because they are bigger and several feet away from the listening position, but what matters to me with the eggs is the integrity of the sound, a believable and deep soundstage and an undeniable sense of energy and mojo. These are not sterile and flat sounding and the tweeters genuinely have an extended response. Headbangers might not like them because they do not go hugely loud and completely lack the cursed upper bass boom, bang and grind that so many speakers suffer from. I am now considering another pair to use with the tv.

I’m another one with mixed feelings about these, on the one hand they sound incredible on usb listening to music at 24bit96khz and they are easily a five star product but i have issues with them cutting out running certain applications together and to be honest they do lack a bit in the lower frequencies. The detail and clarity as well as the stereo separation is probably the best i’ve heard. Its just the issues you have over usb. I guess if you just want to listen to music with these i’d highly recommend them but for me they just have a couple of niggles that have moved them to the bedroom and just using as a great bluetooth speaker, whilst my ruark mr1s are back in front of the computer.

Delightfully clear and warm sound with power beyond their size. Acoustic, classical, folk and some rock sound stunning – every note, beat and tap of the high hat come through with clarity and warmth. Basslines and left hand side of keyboards have surprising weight. They don’t fair so well with dance and heavier rock/metal. Here the speakers get a bit crowded and lose the separation shown in acoustic and vocal tracks. Bass is there but falls short if you want to really feel it. They do have a sub-woofer out though. Plenty of volume too – 10-15% at desk is fine and 25% will full a medium size room for normal listening. For the space i have and music i listen to these are perfect and way ahead of anything else i’ve heard.

Annoyingly they turn off after only a few minutes which can be a little frustrating but otherwise perfect for my home office.

Great design and most importantly a great sound.

Bought to replace aging soundsticks. Sound quality – that everyone raves about – i found to be merely adequate. This thing really needs a sub. Worse, the cable that connects the two speakers in limited in length and that restricts where they can be placed (i have a multiple monitor setup so space is restricted). They are bulkier than the soundsticks. One end is fixed, the other plugs into the left-hand speaker. But perhaps the biggest disappointment was that they just don’t have enough bass and they’re not loud enough. I’m no audiophile but would be willing to pay for quality. But in this case just for music playback on a mac, adding the cost of a sub makes it just too much of a stretch. Note that i do have the kef hts-3005se 5.

Sound is no way loud enough, my old creative speakers were louder. Sound distorts at higher volumes and certainly doesn’t fill my small room.

Nice speakers a bit temperamental setting up.

Great sound and good quality build, however impossible to use as reliable pc speakers because they seem to be more concerned about preserving power than actually functioning as speakers. The systems keeps going into standby mode after 10-15 minutes of silence. That’s right, not maybe like you might expect when you lock the computer or switch it off, or perhaps after a few hours, no, after literally just a few minutes. You then have to manually switch them on again with the remote or by pressing the power button on the right speaker. No way to configure this differently in windows power settings to disable this function. Why anybody thought that was a good idea for a pc speaker system, especially hard coding this extremely short time it takes to switch off, is beyond me. Bottom line: if you rely on sound being readily available, from your pc, such as for audible alerts or whatever else, and you don’t constantly play a sound – which let’s face it nobody does – these will let you down.

This review is mainly for the amazon warehouse deal which i hope not to use again on electrical or complex goods. Unfortunately stopped working after less than 3 months. Sound pretty good – obviously when fed good quality files or feeds. Editthe repairs were covered by the manufacturers 2 year warranty and was fixed for free labour and parts (heavy so about £26 in postal charges).

Wireless, high resolution sound

I have to agree with j’s review on this one. They aren’t suited to desktop use due to them going into standby after some time without a signal. You then have to manually turn them back on. I also had mixed feelings about the sound. Mids and highs are really good and because of this they show fantastic clarity and detail, bass i found slightly underwhelming. There is a sub woofer output and, if used, i’m sure could really compliment them. I also wasn’t keen on the fixed (at one end), non-standard speaker cable that wasn’t long enough for my desk. All that considered, they weren’t what i was looking for but i appreciated how they sounded.

I understand that they sleep, but i have found that slightly annoying when one is in the habit of having speakers permanently ‘at the ready’. However great sound, lovely appearance and prompt delivery.

Got these the next day after recommendation by hi fi specialist they are great got the kef subwoofer for added bass and these have recently won desktop what hifi award so very pleased great for music films and games.

Having read the reviews of this product i took a chance and ordered despite having not heard them myself elsewhere. I could not be happier with them. The sound is clear and has actually allowed me to hear extra detail on a number of tracks i have owned for many years. Clear and concise without distortion and a nice level of bass, these are certainly enough for use in a living room as sole speakers without a woofer. Size wise they fit neatly on top of a narrow bookcase without being overbearing, and in fact add a nice retro vibe to the room if they are relatively prominent. Minor niggles to be aware of:running them from bluetooth the quality is dependent on your device being within range, as taking them too far can cause some breakup as the signal varies. The volume control on the remote control appears to be very subtle and in small increments, however those on the base unit work very well. I’d suggest setting the volume on the speaker and the device to the highest setting and then adjusting it from your device.

Setup——-simple to set up. Simply connect the speakers using the included cable, plug in, turn on, select the desired input mode and off you go. Sound quality——————–excellent. Whether you are using these via bluetooth (for the best bluetooth sound quality make sure you device supports aptx) or via usb, the quality is exceptional. For the price, size and functionality i think you’d struggle to find a better pair of speakers. Desktop specifics————————the maindrawback from my experience (hence the 4 rather than 5*) is that the speakers seem to be quite temperamental when connected to a pc via usb. They automatically turn themselves off if no signal is sent to them after a couple of minutes. This is expected behaviour, and i have noticed that they turn themselves back on if you start to play something again (sometimes. So while irritating, it is at least ‘expected’.

I had the ruark desktop speakers which won 2014 whathifi awards and i am so glad that i upgraded to these. The difference in quality is clear. They won 2015 what hifi awards for a good reason. Love them and i am extremely particular about the quality of tech i buy.

MINIX NEO U9-H – Remote is very easy to use

Very few apps are compatible with this box a bit disappointing compared to last minix box a bit slow and glitchy at times and has to be rebooted a lot overall not as good as i was expecting.

This is something guys, i’m tellin’ ya. I bought it to just test it but it becomes our family main entertainment device. Performs great due to android environment. I’ve installed brand new version of kodi from the playstore and ran covenant repo and now we can watch basically anything we want to. It pretty small and great looking black box which looks not cheap at all. And combined with the air remote is great pack.

I would give this product a higher rating but for two reasons; the first is that i had hoped for better connectivity with the antenna- a primary reason for us purchasing this model. To be fair, our wireless can be slightly intermittent, so it would be unfair to blame the minix solely. Secondly, when ordering the minix i specifically messaged the sellers to ask about the plug provided and was told it was as i hoped, a european two pin plug as shown in the photo (we needed a european plug as opposed to a uk plug). When it arrived i was not surprised to find it was a uk plug and over a period of 4 weeks emails steadily bounced back and forth before the company paid us a £3 refund. There was no reply to my subsequent message which said that i would have hoped for more money back as i now needed more than £3 to buy a 2 pin ac adapter. Nothing further has been heard so the minix gets a 3 star review. It is a decent bit of kit and i am very pleased to have bought it with the neo a3 remote, well worth paying for in my opinion.

Great bit of kit, i would definitely recommend it.

Works great so far, the a3 remote is a must as it improves the user experience greatly.

Still some buffering and drop outs so not 5/5.

Best android iptv box 2017its well built, extremely easy to setupkodi is very fast on this. 3 runs perfectlyworks with rii8 remote too. The a3 remote is okay but the rii8 is more user friendly. Installed ipvanish which loads on startupthe interface is user friendly and one of the quickest i’ve ever used.

Brilliant box, so easy to setup and very fast, excellent hd no stuttering or freezing even with vpn running very pleased with box. The a3 handset is also excellent ( it does take some getting used to, but easily mastered.

Excellent android smart tv box.

Easy to set up and streams perfectly.

I found this box well made and relatively easy to setup with help from youtube being a newbie to android streaming etc. The addition of the a3 remote is well recommended and makes typing of links so much easier.

-perfect item-small enough to take it while travel.

Works really well, but had to refer to you tube to be able to set it up. People with not much knowledge of these matters may find it difficult. Here are the specifications for the MINIX NEO U9-H:

The wireless also has a lot of speed thanks to the connectivity 802. 11ac and the 2x2mimo dual-band wi-fi.I have the minix x6 and you cannot begin to compare. The x6 needs to ask permission to the processor to do anything, it’s very very slow and with android 4. This is another world apart, with a octa core processor and android 6. Also very happy with the delivery, before the date. Strongly advice this purchase if you are not certain.

Out the box the power supply didn’t work, just got a blinking blue and red light which it appears means bad psu. Tested the supply and output was all over the place between 2v and 8v. Used a multi adaptor and worked first time. Box itself is a really nice android box but considering it’s 2-3 times the price of others i shouldn’t be having to use a different power supply, and after googling the fault it appears to be very common at the moment. Kinda wish i had spent the extra and got an nvidia shield.

Excellent product great engine inside and thank you for you quick and reliable service.

Very quick service arrived early box working perfectly thank you.

Got one of these to use as a media player. It kind of worked for a short while but streaming was hit and miss (wired or wireless)became apparent it was faulty, trying to clear the cache to cure massive slowdown just scrambled the screen. Amazon were great as always. 3 stars is more for the air mouse which worked really well. Have ordered an nvidia shield to replace it, hopefully be more reliable. Expected more as it’s one of the most expensive android boxes and reviews were largely good. Maybe i was just unlucky and received a dud.

Worked like a charm out of the box, updates could have been better, but as with all android manufactures it slow.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • 4 stars without the disappointing customer services
  • Best Android IPTV box 2017- Kodi is super fast on this and works well
  • After my experience i couldn’t recommend

KEF EGG Wireless Digital Music System – – Expensive but worth it

Great quality and depth of sound.

  • [1 Year of use] Great Desktop Speakers
  • Great sound, great build – Sadly impossible to use as a reliable set of PC speakers!
  • Cool and Concise

Sound is no way loud enough, my old creative speakers were louder. Sound distorts at higher volumes and certainly doesn’t fill my small room.

Annoyingly they turn off after only a few minutes which can be a little frustrating but otherwise perfect for my home office.

I had the ruark desktop speakers which won 2014 whathifi awards and i am so glad that i upgraded to these. The difference in quality is clear. They won 2015 what hifi awards for a good reason. Love them and i am extremely particular about the quality of tech i buy.

Got these the next day after recommendation by hi fi specialist they are great got the kef subwoofer for added bass and these have recently won desktop what hifi award so very pleased great for music films and games.

Wireless, high resolution sound

Great design and most importantly a great sound.

Nice speakers a bit temperamental setting up.

I understand that they sleep, but i have found that slightly annoying when one is in the habit of having speakers permanently ‘at the ready’. However great sound, lovely appearance and prompt delivery.

Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter – – Excellent product, but be wary of Metro apps and 720p

We bought this without much thought in order to use it in a presentation including a surface pro 2 tablet and a couple of windows smartphones i. Connected to an older sony tv. Worked flawlessly with all devices used. Although not cheap it is absolutely necessary in the office environment, if you give or take presentations, and makes tv or projector sharing as simple as it should be.

So far, used successfully on two non-smart tvs. Once working it seems to do exactly what it should. However, i’m using windows 10 and find connection always fails until i remove all traces of the device’s previous connection/setup. Disconnecting or not at the end of a viewing doesn’t seem to make any difference. If it wasn’t for this i would probably give it 5 stars.

Brilliant product, i have had this for over 3 months now, not easy to set up if you’re a noobie to tech but for anyone else it’s easy to use, the best out of the miracast family. Just make sure your laptop/tablet or smartphonecan connect through this method or you will be disappointed. Overall great product and let’s me beam internet tv where ever i am.

We’re using it for business presentations etc. , and it works much better than chromcast for our purposes. It’s incredibly easy to connect microsoft devices and the picture quality and streaming is very good.

Because i own a windows phone (one of the few) i thought it best to buy a microsoft adapter rather than a generic one. That said, it works really well playing back videos and games, and without frame freezes.

Plug it into the tv and then use windows 10 and select ‘connect or project’. . You now have your computer screen on your tv (with sound)great piece of kit – i use it in hotels to watch movies from netflix.

  • If you have a set up problem read this review now I have it working and it’s superb.
  • Great tech if you have compatible devices to use with it.
  • The design is nice and minimalist

A good wireless adapter works well with my linx 1010b have no problem streaming netflix from it to my tv, doesn’t seem to work perfectly with another laptop but that is a slightly older one and i am putting it down to age, its easy to setup simply plug in, connect and it works, good quality image and is more convenient than cables everywhere. Would recommend, i am considering getting another.

Nifty little gadget, i’m using with surface pro 3. It can be a little temperamental at first and the tablet won’t link. Usually have to restart tablet and then it works fine. Very handy for displaying powerpoint on projector and plasma screens or videos. Needs usb port near hdmi port.

I have a dellxps-15 ultrabook (less than one year old) and a samsung es800 47′ tv. At first the microsoft wireless display adapter just was not detected by the computer, despite having all the latest display and wifi drivers installed (windows 10, 64-bit). I send the unit back and re-ordered another one. The replacement was exactly the same; not detected by the computer. After much searching the problem was discovered and fixed – the wireless adapter on the dell xps-15 had been ‘bridged’. This must have happened when i created a ‘virtual machine’ using hyper-v. I removed the bridge connection and now the adapter is recognisedthe computer screen is now mirrored perfectly on the tv.

A long wait but it was worth it. Device plugged into the hmdi3 slot on my panasonic tv but no usb power available so sourced power from adjacent dvd recorder and switched on. Selected hdmi3 on av menu and there was the microsoft logo. Switched on my basic asus me173x,android tablet, went to settings, selected display and switched on wireless display. The device searched for a few seconds then connected and i had the tablet screen on the tv. Absolutely bomb proofstreaming live tv via the internet no problem and perfect picture and sound synchronisation with high quality images. Any other web based video has been equally trouble free.

Allows us to project my surface pro 3 to the hotel tv so we can watch films in the evening. Also used for work where i needed to project my surface and also my phone to a projector for a presentation.

This is my first wireless adaptor. Choosed this one, because this was looking good quality and well priced product. Just plug in and find your adapter on your smartphone or pc. (im using windows 10)streaming quality at first time was really bad, just enough for video waching and nothing else. Pc mouse on tv moves like frozen, felt like i can actualy see changing frames per second. Sound stream was alright, but slightly forward then video. To fix this problem i was tried to update software in adapter, but even after update, i didnt actualy notice any big difference. But after about one week of use, it fixed it self, and now i almost cant noticeable any streaming lag. Now i event can play video games if i want.

I suppose that i should have checked more fully into this itemit arrived very quicklythe instructions are very clear of how to installthe problem is that from microsoft down to the supplier through amazon no one even mentions the ability of the pc to cast. I have extensively tried to find a dongle to make my pc cast compatible but no such luckit will end up with a number of other pieces of electronic wizardry in the shed.

The product works moderately well. The design is nice and minimalist. One one laptop it took a little bit of software/firmware updating to get it up and running but my other laptop got it working immediately. The product does tend to heat up quite a bit and will disconnect every few hours, which can be a bit annoying. The video stream does not lag too noticeably in most cases. Watching movies through it is generally fine, though some flash players will show a bit of difficulty. The quality of the image will depend on the power of your device you’re streaming from so bear this in mind if you’re using an older laptop or desktop. It has become a staple in my life and largely replaced my chromecast. I doubt that the disconnects could be fixed by a firmware update and i hope that it is not due to overheating which may lessen the lifespan of the device. I’d recommend – if you’re looking to by this product – to buy the latest version.

Works perfectly with my hp pavilion x360 on win 10, as well as a number of phones in the house – lumia 930, galaxy s6. Streams perfectly to the tv, very good for showing slides of photo’s on a larger screen, also videos and music, all comes across perfect.

Phenomenal piece of kit and a must have for any regular presenter. Especially in front of new people as you look very professional but still have full access to notes and presentation mode while being free to move and talk. Great for getting practical elements and interaction into your presentations.

It does get a little warmit really is ‘plug & play’. However, the very first time it’s plunged in it takes a few minutes to settle down. Sometimes the sound will not get transmitted, stop and start takes care of itmake sure the usb socket on your display is powered.

This may come in handy when wanting to share content with friends and family on a large (hdmi-enabled) screen or when presenting or sharing content in professional environments. As the device supports the miracast standard you should find it works with many android and windows phone (including windows mobile 10) devices that support it (the devices need to have hardware to support this). Many modern computers will also have the intel wireless display standard which operates similarly to miracast, allowing you to use your tv / external screen as a primary or secondary monitor. The technology does not only push visual content out onto your tv / hdmi screen but will also push audio out as well. What is particularly impressive is how the audio and video is synchronised perfectly (this is often a problem with digital content, particularly when using wireless standards such as bluetooth). The technology is very simple to use (from windows 8 / 10 to windows phone and android). Do note that portable smart phones using miracast will typically mirror what’s on the mobile device screen, so you will need need to keep the device and the screen on. Don’t attempt to use this for fast-paced games, though, as there is a slight delay (less than a second, but enough to get you ‘killed’ in a fast action game on a smart phone or tablet). Your portable device can get warm and you will find the battery drains much quicker than usual when wirelessly ‘casting’ your content, so do be aware of this. The wireless display technology used in windows 8 and above (typically requiring an intel widi supporting hardware as well) can, however, display content wirelessly with your computer screen off (using the tv as your primary screen, thus disabling the notebook computer screen).

Would recommend this over chromecast etc. Gives you full ability to do whatever you want on your tv from your laptop, tablet, phone etc. Connectivity could be the only downside to this but ensuring that you’re on the newest firmware should sort that out.

Does not depend on using your wifi router as it creates its own hotspot so will work anywhere you have access to a tv or monitor with an hdmi port. Well worth the additional cost over a basic miracast adaptor.

For what i bought this for it works well for me, i can project my laptop and my phone onto the tv and show pictures, home movies well. I also help out at the golf club with open competitions using power point and excel programs showing scores and winners on large tv’s in the golf club.

I had been looking for a solution to project from my surface pro 3 to my samsung tv. It isn’t a smart tv, but does have hdml/usb etc. Having read up on this product i found that a lot of people reported problems connecting their tablets to the wireless adapter, and subsequently there were also reports of suboptimal streaming performance. I received the product in a couple of days, nicely packaged with clear, concise instructions. However, like a lot of other people i found that the device simply wouldn’t connect to my surface. The thing is, i had set up the tablet to have a default user that had enhanced security settings, password protected. Having fiddled around for an hour i thought there must be an easier way, so i simply created a new user account on the surface, with admin rights, but no password or advanced security. Having done that i retried to connect the adapter, and bingo. Not only that, but it must have installed the drivers for all users, because once i had it working for the open admin account, it also began to work for the secure account.

I send presentations from inside my windows 8. 1 pc wirelessly to this device plugged into my projector or tv. Sound and vision, whatever is on your desktop screen. Also works from my microsoft lumia 640 phone. Both scan for devices when using ‘wireless display’ and just click on miracast and what you see on your pc or phone appears on the projector or tv. For projectors or tvs which don’t have a usb socket i use a portable usb powerbank.

Its ok, and very well packaged and feels like quality. Only given 4* as out of the box it did not work with audio. So then i had to download some software on my windows10 laptop, then connect to it wirelessly, and then upgrade the firmware. Quite a messy process if you are not tech savvy, and if you only have android, actually impossible. I would buy it again, although there are cheaper products out there doing the same job.

I found this to work really well from setup to ease of use. The device is seen as a standard display in windows terms, which you can duplicate or extend or do any of the normal things you can do with the display settings, you can pretty much display anything on it, unlike the limitations of a chromecast and its browser (yes, i know it has an unsupported desktop sharing feature – which you can’t compare to this). One thing to note, if you have a surface rt and can only run metro apps, then although you can connect to a 720p television, you can’t display the apps, as the resolution is too low. (if you don’t have rt, then you can just install and run a desktop – non metro video app that doesn’t have the restriction on the resolution). Metro apps have a minimum resolution of 1024×768, which the system thinks 1280 x 720 of 720p is too low). Whoever designed this limitation really didn’t think this through. Most new tv’s will run 1080p, but that darn 26′ bedroom tv. Anyway – something to think about, and not a reason to downmark this product (as its actually a windows metro issue).

I found it easy to connect to my surface pro 4 and worked a treat with powerpoint (my main need). However on the 18th dec it suddenly stopped working. It tries to connect & then disconnects. I have tried everything suggested on there support website. I have been in contact with ms support and they have concluded it is likely to be due to a firmware update to my sp4 that came with a windows update on the 17th. There is no time-scale or promise of a solution.

A good unit, delivered promptly as always. Easy to fit and connected to my ms-sp3 immediately (very easy process). Audio and video working well, although the on-screen cursor does not scroll smoothly on the tv screen when media is playing. Not sure if this is tablet or adapter related however.

Works well with minimal/no lag. Ideal for streaming media from your laptop to the tv. Also very useful for a dual monitor set up, since it allows for extension of the desktop – you can have an article on the second screen/tv whilst writing an essay on your laptop, for example. This is something which other adapters i could find didn’t offer. There are a couple of niggles which prevent a five-star rating however. There were slight problems with the initial set up, although it works fine now, and the range is also occasionally an issue, with the connection cutting out if the laptop is moved too far away from the tv. There is also sometimes a strange scrolling effect on the screen but resetting the adapter seems to fix this issue. Generally, the adapter works very well. I connected using a dell xps13 (9350) laptop and also an xperia z3 compact phone and both worked.

Item looks good and works well with my girlfriends lenovo miix 2. Unfortunately it dosent want to work with my surface pro 4 and it either takes ages to connect or not at all. Once connected its very laggy and drops connection whereas the lenovo miix seems to work with it fine. Maybe future surface updates will address these issues or its just doomed to never work properly for me.

I hesitated before buying this in case it was a faff to set up but i needn’t have worried. Really good for showing photos on the big screen tv so my elderly parents don’t have to crowd round the tablet screen.

I was looking for a wire free streaming solution from my ms sp 3 to my tv. Fed up with wires trailing everywhere. These have come down in price , so thought give it a go. No problems connecting up to 21′ tv or 44′ smart tv. It needs to be plugged into a usb source for power and if like me your tv doesn’t have a usb input , don’t worry aslong as you have a usb plug you can simply plug it into the wall. Both tv’s recognised adaptor, just a case of going into windows display settings and selecting ‘connect to a wireless device’ there us however a noticeable lag although not enough to warrant return , but would if like me you intend to use to mirror onto a bigger screen to view word, excel or powerpoint files and going to use a mouse, i’d use a wired mouse as the lag was at least for me more moticable when using both a usb and bluetooth wireless mouse probably caused by crossover signals between the device. Does tend to get hot when in use for long periods although in winter this may be a bonus. Otherwise happy with purchase and definately recommend.

A nice design, good when i was finally able to get a laptop to connect. Unfortunately i wanted to connect a new desktop to it over miracast but this doesn’t seem to be supported. It isn’t the easiest to find out if your computer is compatible with miracast – i had one way tell me it was hence why i bought this – if you are interested then it all comes down to the wireless card, pretty much every new intel one does support miracast (i believe) if you have other brands then it is a little hit and miss, and if you have a desktop then good luck. (on an aside) we use these at work with surface tablets and they are really good so if you have a surface pro 3 or higher i am 95% certain this will work. Good but not suitable for my needs.

It uses Miracast technology, so you’re not limited to certain apps or content streaming, you can display everything from your device on an HDTV, monitor or any other device with HDMI input
